Derech HaTavlinim, Beit Lechem HaGlilit
Derech HaTavlinim is a organic herb and spice farm located on Moshav Beit Lechem HaGlilit, in the Jezreel Valley, a large fertile plain in the Lower Galilee region. The Moshav is a former Templar Colony that was captured by the Haganah in 1948 and resettled by Jewish farmers, including Zvi Zitherspieler, a young immigrant from Poland who started growing mint and lemon verbena. Now run by his son, Avi, the farm and on-site shop includes dozens of blends that are harvested and dried by hand, according to simple, traditional methods that the family has used for over 50 years.
The property is expansive, offering sweeping views of the lower Galilee with picnic tables outside where families can enjoy a fresh meal prepared in the cafe. The farm hosts cooking workshops, activities for children, agricultural festivals and holiday celebrations throughout the year. Be sure to visit Havat Derech HaTavlinim on your next visit to Israel.
